About SOUD

Locally driven, sustainable solutions by Afghan professionals.

Our Journey & Identity

SOUD Future Development & Empowerment Organization (SOUD) is a national, non-political, non-governmental, and non-profit organization established in January 2025. It is officially registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan under license NO. 6130 to deliver humanitarian and development services across the country.

SOUD was established as the national entity of ASCEND Leadership Through Athletics, an international women-led organization that has been actively working in Afghanistan since 2015. Recognizing that Afghan-led organizations are best positioned to deliver culturally informed interventions, ASCEND strongly embraced the localization agenda.

Today, SOUD embodies this transition by placing Afghan professionals, particularly women, at the center of decision-making, program design, and implementation.
